Wonersh and Shamley Green Church of England Primary School

About the Group:

Wonersh and Shamley Green Church of England Primary School is an excellent school serving the local villages.  The school has a rich heritage; being first established in Wonersh in 1683 and then moving to Shamley Green in 1843.

As a Church of England (Voluntary Aided) school the school has a strong Christian ethos and was recently inspected by SIAMS and graded outstanding.  Our strong links with both our local Anglican churches and the wider community is very important.

WSG Primary currently caters for children from 4 9 years old, but is currently expanding and by 2016 will have places for 210 children,  in 7 classes from years R to 6 (up to 11 years old)

The school has excellent facilities with a new junior building completed in 2014 and a new hall completed in 2012.   The school is set in idyllic natural surroundings with 6 acres of grounds comprising a playground, field, woods and a stream.  The school is a Forest School and outdoor learning is a real strength.  WSG Primary also has strong links with schools overseas in Ghana, China and Nepal. Children are encouraged to see themselves as global citizens.
